About
I knew I was to become an artist during my sophomore year at Davidson College, while taking an art class with third wave abstract expressionist, Herb Jackson. There was something to the whole process of making art that clicked for me. Some magnetic attraction I still can’t overcome.
Curiosity is the gift and curse of an artist. After two years of making art after college, I decided to attend graduate school - to study for a master’s degree in political economy at a prestigious London university. This degree eventually helped me land a job in Hong Kong, learning how to trade physical commodities. My trading career ended in Geneva, Switzerland, moving crude oil around the world for a Russian Oil Company.
In due course, and unable to overcome my instinct to create, I found myself in New York City taking art classes and developing a studio practice that has continued to this day.
In 2018, my curiosity and creative ambition led to the development and launch of an athleisure brand of clothing featuring unique art prints. It continues in some form or fashion to today and is sold online and in numerous boutiques.
In my artwork, I create invented worlds that interrogate and reflect the idea of the “collective unconscious” as well as mankind’s increasingly fraught relationship with its environment.
